FAQs

Do you have a question? We’re here to help.

  • Can you tell me more about loan autoclaves and technician availability?

All our customers receive a free loan autoclave for the life of the machine. We offer a 48-hour guarantee of repair otherwise we send a loan autoclave at no charge to use in the meantime.

For example, if we do not have the part on hand (though we usually do) we will leave you a free loan unit until your machine is repaired. We do not use third party companies to service and repair our machines, so you are dealing directly with us the entire time.

  • How long is the wait between ordering and installation?

There is usually a one-week turnaround time. If you need your new autoclave quicker, please get in touch to liaise with our logistics team.

  • Tracking: Is there an additional cost for the printer? Is there a digital recording option?

The printer is inbuilt so is not an additional cost. All our autoclaves have a USB port (USB is included) which records cycles digitally automatically. No fancy software is required to read files on the computer.

  • We already have a reverse osmosis system. Can it be fitted to the autoclave?

Only the T (Touch) series can be plumbed directly to a water filtration system. The D series has an easily accessible tank that can be filled with water from your RO system or store bought demineralised/distilled water.

  • Is there anything special required for the autoclave installation?

Our benchtop autoclaves are standalone machines which only require an ordinary (10 amp) power point and a sturdy bench or table.

  • Will I need anything else for my autoclave?

Steam autoclaves require high quality water to run. We highly recommend investing in a reverse osmosis water filtration system for on demand, high quality water. Alternatively, distilled or demineralised bottled water can be purchased from supermarkets and hardware stores.

Some industries are required to do sterilisation tests of their autoclaves. These are most commonly helix kits or class 6 indicators. If you're not sure what tests you will be required to run, a good starting point are the Australian Standards, notably, AS 5369:2023.

  • Are Icanclave autoclaves compliant and approved by Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration?

    Yes. Icanclave complies with:

    • EN ISO 13485: 2016.
    • MDSAP 1348:2016.
    • Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (Medical Devices): ARTG 226510.

Autoclaves QLD is CI Scientific's only Queensland distributor of TGA-approved Icanclaves.
